(WASHINGTON D.C., 8/27/22) – The U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), the nation’s largest umbrella group for major national, regional, and local Muslim American organizations, announced today its inaugural ceremony to honor Muslim Women for their achievements and contributions to community and society. “It is long overdue for the Muslim American community and its leadership to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of Muslim American women and Muslim women around the world,” said Oussama Jammal, Secretary General of USCMO. “Muslim Women have excelled and performed admirably and many times exceedingly in every walk of life. We should be proud of them”. The inaugural ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 18, 2022. New York City was chosen to be the host for this year’s ceremony. The event is expected to draw enthusiastic and overwhelming support from the Muslim American community.
