US Shows No Interest in Protecting Americans, Prosecuting Israelis Who Kill Them
(Washington, D.C., 8/3/2025) – The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), America’s umbrella group of Muslim associations, along with American Muslims, for the second time in three weeks calls US President Donald Trump to stop the Israeli government-inspired settler mayhem and killing spree of American citizens in Palestine’s West Bank.
Rampaging Israeli settlers, backed by tear-gas firing Israeli soldiers, set fire to Palestinian-owned property in Silwan, north of Ramallah, killing Khamis Ayyad, 40 – a U.S. citizen, father of five, and a long-time Chicago resident – during a Thursday dawn raid.
That same day, two high-level Israeli ministers, Yariv Levin and Israel Katz, called the frenzy of Israel settler West Bank anarchy and anti-Palestinian pogroms “a moment of opportunity” to declare “Israeli sovereignty” over the illegally occupied territory.
Ayyad’s murder comes just days after homicidal Israeli settlers from the same illegal settlement beat to death 20-year-old Palestinian-American, U.S. citizen, and Florida native Saifollah Musallet in the nearby Israeli-occupied town of Sinjil on July 11.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Attorney General Pam Bondi have so far steadfastly refused to investigate, indict, extradite, bring to trial, and punish the lawless, armed Israeli settler-colonists, and the Israeli soldiers who protect and abet their anti-Palestinian violence – some of whom may be dual U.S. citizens.
“We demand a full investigation from the Department of Justice,” said an Ayyad family representative in Chicago. “An American citizen was killed. Where’s the accountability?”
USCMO Secretary General Oussama Jammal said today in a statement:
“It is a dereliction of his highest duty to protect Americans for the president and his appointed state and justice department officials to allow for foreign government officials, soldiers, and state-sponsored terrorists – some of whom may be U.S. citizens – to terrorize and kill Americans.
“It is unspeakably despicable that the country where this open murder of Americans is taking place is a completely dependent U.S. client state.
“It is dumbfoundingly disgraceful that the U.S. government is funding this foreign nation’s murder of American citizens and sending them the weapons to do the killing with.
“Within minutes of a harassed young woman knocking the cellphone out of the hand of a man on a college campus wearing an IDF tee shirt who was videoing her without permission, Pam Bondi, the attorney general of the United States, sees fit to issue a statement in defense of the Israel-supporter.
“But Bondi can’t find the time or inclination to investigate and bring to justice illegal settlers of a foreign nation who are killing American citizens?
“Marco Rubio and everyone in the U.S. State Department know very well that the Israelis have shown absolutely zero integrity in investigating the mammoth tower of atrocities their soldiers and illegal settlers have been piling up for eight decades.
“Rubio must do his job and protect and vindicate the rights of all Americans, not just kowtow to the foreign interests he thinks can make him president.
“That makes 10 U.S. citizens Israeli soldiers and settlers have outright murdered in the past four years. Not even one of these lynchings of Americans led to criminal charges for their Israeli perpetrators.
“It is the height of willful negligence for our president and his cabinet officers not to protect and uphold the lives of this nation’s citizens because of some depraved impunity arbitrarily granted to a foreign entity and its domestic bagmen for purely personal political, and oh so swampy, purposes.”
USCMO demands that President Trump instruct his Cabinet officers to thoroughly investigate the killing of U.S. citizen Khamis Ayyad by murderous Israeli settlers and their IDF accomplices.
President Trump and his administration must punish its perpetrators and the Israeli officials exhorting them to these anti-Palestinian pogroms with the full weight of the considerable legal, financial, and diplomatic instruments at his disposal – including sanctions, withholding aid and arms, withholding diplomatic protection, requiring that perpetrators be extradited to the U.S., and employing our force capabilities if that is the only way to guarantee U.S. citizens’ safety in increasingly anarchic Israeli society.
Our prayers of condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Khamis Ayyad, God have mercy on him, who acted honorably in seeking to protect the lives and property of his family and neighbors – a laudable act of bravery and sacrifice.
May God accept him in the Hereafter among the noble bearers of truthful witness.
God bless our young brother Saifollah Musallet, have mercy on him, accept him and his sacrifice, and admit him into His High Garden of Paradise.
