USCMO Stands in Support of Affordable Care for All Americans

As we approach the holiday season, the US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) reaffirms its commitment to justice and equity in healthcare. We proudly support the latest interfaith initiative calling on Congress to protect and expand the Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits, ensuring that healthcare remains accessible and affordable for all Americans—especially low- and middle-income families

Why This Matters

Healthcare is not a bargaining chip; it is a fundamental right. Congress must keep its promise to pass legislation that safeguards ACA health credits and rejects any deal that compromises the well-being of vulnerable communities. Cutting off access to affordable healthcare is a moral failure, not a budget strategy.

What’s Happening Now

An interfaith sign-on letter will be delivered to Congress on December 3rd, urging lawmakers to:

Keep their promise and pass a bill to protect and expand the ACA health credit;

Ensure any changes to the credit keeps healthcare affordable for low- and middle-income families;

Reject any deal that uses people’s health care as a bargaining chip in broader negotiations.

USCMO has already signed on to the first letter to Congress along with 230 signatories, hand-delivered to 20 key Senate offices, and was sent electronically to the full Senate during the shutdown fight, continuing the spirit of our previous advocacy efforts. But we need your help to amplify this message.

How You Can Help

Sign On: If your organization has not yet signed the letter, please do so by December 2nd using this form.

Spread the Word: Share this opportunity widely with colleagues and networks. The more voices we have, the stronger our collective impact.

Together, we can ensure that healthcare remains a right for all-not a privilege for a few.
