Meeting French Foreign Ministry’s Counselor of Religious Affairs

On Friday July 27, 2018, USCMO Secretary General Oussama Jammal and Dr. Esam Omeish met with the French Foreign Ministry’s Counselor for Religious Affairs, Ambassador Jean-Christophe Peaucelle and discussed religious affairs of the Muslim communities in both France and the United States of America.
During the meeting they discussed the Muslim communities in France and the importance of religious freedom and protecting minorities. Furthermore, they discussed the main challenges facing the Muslim community in both countries, focusing on parallels and common interests between Muslims in the United States and in France. The meeting was candid and positive. Both parties expressed interest in continued dialogue.
