Dr. Aisha El-Amin

Dr. Aisha El-Amin holds a PhD in Policy Studies of Urban Education, is the mother of 3 compassionate young ladies and has been married to her best friend for 23 years. 

Dr. El-Amin currently leads student success and belonging efforts at Chicago’s largest public research 1 university. As a Chicago native and second-generation Muslim, she learned early on the importance of nurturing and protecting community life. Dr. El-Amin is a servant-leader and a US Army Veteran. She has received numerous awards, which most recently include the 2022 UIC Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Blacks History Makers Award and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. 2022 Community Leader of the Year Award.

Dr. El-Amin believes in honest communication, that smiles are infectious, every problem has a solution and an organization’s greatest resource are its people
