Shaykh Dr. Mohamed Moussa

Shaykh Dr. Mohamed Moussa is a Professor of Islamic Studies and an active community leader. A graduate of Al-Azhar University (Egypt), where he studied Usul al-Din (Principles of Religion), he earned both a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Studies from the Graduate Theological Foundation (GTF). In 2010, he was awarded the Ibn Taymiyya Prize in Islamic Studies for his outstanding scholarship as a master’s student.
He currently serves as Imam of the North Hudson Islamic Educational Center in New Jersey and as an Islamic Relief Sharia (Islamic Law) Counselor. Dr. Moussa also serves as Secretary General of The World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates in the U.S. and as Secretary General of the Tri-State Imams Council.
An accomplished author, he has written several Arabic-language works — many now being translated into English — including Social Relations in the Light of the Al-Nisaa Chapter, Unify the Procedures of Marriage and Divorce in U.S. Mosques, Philosophy of the Inheritance in Islam, Alnaskh in the Quran, and the Al-Moyaser series (Fi El Fiqh, Fi Usool Alfiqh, and Fi Alhadeeth).
