Dr. Muhammed Fahim Khan is a distinguished economist and a pioneering scholar in the field of Islamic economics and finance, with more than four decades of leadership experience in economic policy, academic research, and institutional capacity building.
He holds Master's degrees in Statistics, Political Economy, and Development Economics, and earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University, USA. Over his illustrious career, Dr. Khan has served in pivotal academic and policy roles - including Director of the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) at the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, and Dean and Professor of Economics at the International Islamic University, Islamabad. Before entering academia, he worked for 13 years at the Ministry of Planning, Government of Pakistan.
He has authored and edited over a dozen books and numerous articles in refereed international journals. His landmark publications include Islamic Banking and Finance in the European Union: A Challenge' (Edward Elgar, UK) and 'Essays in Islamic Economics' (Islamic Foundation, UK).
Currently, Dr. Fahim Khan continues to mentor, write, and contribute to the advancement of Faith-Based Economics as Chairman, Dar-ul-Hikmah and Pro Rector, BRAINS Institute, Peshawar, where his thought leadership inspires a new
generation of scholars and reformers.
