Dr. Shariq Siddiqui serves as Assistant Professor of Philanthropic Studies and Director of the Muslim
Philanthropy Initiative at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A.
in Philanthropic Studies, a J.D. from the McKinney School of Law, and a B.A. in History from the University of
Indianapolis. His research explores Muslim philanthropy, nonprofit management, and civil society engagement
in the United States and globally. Dr. Siddiqui is one of the foremost scholars examining how Islamic values
shape charitable behavior, institutional capacity, and donor trust. His work has been featured in leading
academic journals and public forums, informing both scholarship and practice in faith-based giving. A frequent
speaker and advisor to Muslim organizations, Dr. Siddiqui continues to strengthen the infrastructure of Muslim
philanthropy through research, mentorship, and leadership development.
