Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Shah serves as Executive Director and Secretary General of the Fiqh Council of North America. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Wales (UK) and an M.A. (Hons) in Islamic Studies from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. A distinguished theologian and comparative religion scholar, Dr. Shah has taught at leading institutions including the University of Wales, the International Islamic University, and the University of North Florida. Fluent in several languages, he has worked for over three decades in interfaith dialogue and Muslim community leadership. His publications, including Anthropomorphic Depictions of God, Islam’s Reformation of Christianity, and Ifta' and Fatwa in the Muslim World and the West, have been translated into over thirty languages. Dr. Shah previously served as National President of ICNA and SSANA and continues to guide contemporary Islamic thought through his research, scholarship, and global engagement in theology and jurisprudence.
