(Washington, D.C., 7/18/2025) – The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), America’s umbrella group of Muslim associations, strongly urges U.S. President Donald Trump to immediately rein in war criminal Israeli Prime Minister Bemjamin Netanyahu’s illegal, unprovoked mass bombing of Syria and its further illegitimate Israeli occupation.
Trump’s do-nothing approach that has quite literally conceded U.S. Mideast foreign policy to Netanyahu and his regional supervillain killing machine government directly endangers all the people and governments of the region, including the Israelis and the Syrian government the U.S. just set up.
Even more distressing, Trump’s weak Netanyahu political concession is allowing this myopic warmonger to deliberately set the most dangerous trigger for global war the world has seen in six decades. Trump must extinguish Netanyahu’s unquenchable Israeli war-thirst right now.
USCMO Secretary General Oussama Jammal said today in a statement:
“Netanyahu, and his fanatical supremacist administration, is executing a cynical strategy to hold onto political power at home through the distraction of unleashing mass death in the Middle East and regional destabilization by fragmenting every neighboring country into perpetually warring communitarian fiefdoms.
“Trump, just like failed former President Joe Biden before him, has refused to restrain the U.S.’s fully dependent but increasingly rogue Israeli client-state.
“Instead, Trump is feeding Netanyahu’s crazed power addiction as the Israeli prime minister deliberately sows violent chaos and delivers death throughout the Middle East, courtesy of U.S. arms and the economically crushed American people’s money.
“And why is Netanyahu gambling away U.S. interests with American house money? To delay his own domestic and international political reckoning, for one. Also, he wants to immortalize his legacy as the Israeli leader who built the geopolitically psychopathic and unsustainable Zionist vision of “Greater Israel.”
“Netanyahu and his zealots are clearly – indeed intentionally – playing rope-a-dope with Trump and the U.S. military by recklessly seeking to detonate a Middle East powder keg to light the fire of a war that he knows the Israelis can in no way fight and that Americans will have to wage on their behalf.
Netanyahu doesn’t care that such a perilous and irresponsible conflagration may well bring the world to catastrophic nuclear war.
“The American people, on the left and the right, like the rest of the world, are no longer fooled by the incessant crying wolf of Netanyahu and the Israelis to excuse their insatiably rapacious land grabs and monstrous massacres of innocent, defenseless peoples with U.S.-made, paid for, supplied, and preposterously defended bombs and aggression.
“Along with our political establishment’s increasingly indefensible and out-of-touch diplomatic cover for these unambiguous Netanyahu and Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity, the U.S. is simply oozing losses of precious international goodwill and credibility while simultaneously growing ominously isolated among the global community.
“Most alarmingly, by doing nothing to curb and muzzle Netanyahu and the Israeli mad dog, the U.S. is pouring accelerant on an already dangerously angry and inflamed population of more than 400 million Arabs and Muslims in a crucially vital global region that is already profoundly incensed by a 22-month, unequivocal Israeli Gaza genocide that the U.S. is unconscionably co-authoring.
“So, is Trump now going to stand back while mindlessly handing firebomber Netanyahu and his pyromaniac administration not just a match but an endless stream of lit matchbooks? Are we going to continue to blindly abet Netanyahu and the crazy Israeli “strategy” of exploding the Middle East into a massive political, popular, and military inferno whose flames could very well engulf the entire world in a war that could go up in mushroom cloud smoke?
“We need to stay this madness now.”
USCMO calls on President Trump to put firm, monitored restraints on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the entire Israeli war-making apparatus.
We, moreover, demand that the U.S. Congress return from its long abandonment of carrying out its most basic collective responsibilities to ensure congressional control of American military action and strict governance of U.S. military and monetary assistance to foreign nations in accordance with U.S. law.
What Trump and Congress are now at very real risk of losing – shamefully in thrall as they are to Netanyahu, his belligerent foreign entity, its unregistered agents run amok in the homeland, and the vampires of a military-corporate-industrial swamp on the wing – is Abraham Lincoln’s patriotic ideal of a “government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
If Trump and Congress continue to permit and fuel Netanyahu’s Zionist genocide express to steamroll through Syria and the Middle East, we may soon lose our capacity to guarantee the purpose of Lincoln’s warrant for that tremendous Gettysburg sacrifice of 1863 in our own nation’s Civil War – that such a government, the egalitarian American ideal, “shall not perish from the Earth.”
