The U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) proudly leads the National Muslim Women Initiative, a transformative effort to uplift, empower, and invest in the leadership of Muslim women across the United States. Recognizing their essential roles in faith, community, and public life, this initiative provides resources, platforms, and opportunities for women to lead and thrive.
At the heart of the initiative is the Annual Muslim Women’s Conference, a national gathering of scholars, activists, and emerging leaders. These events foster mentorship, professional development, and community-building, while offering a space for open dialogue and collective growth. In addition, the National Muslim Woman Achievement Awards celebrate outstanding women who are driving positive change across fields like education, healthcare, social justice, and civic engagement.
These programs are not only moments of recognition, but catalysts for year-round engagement. The initiative promotes workshops, advocacy efforts, and collaborations focused on equity, representation, and the issues that directly impact Muslim women and families.
Through this work, the initiative also acknowledges the broader context in which Muslim women live and lead. From public bias and underrepresentation to systemic challenges, many continue to navigate obstacles with strength and resilience. USCMO’s commitment is to not only amplify their voices but ensure they have the tools to shape solutions and lead change.
By investing in the development of Muslim women, USCMO is building a stronger, more inclusive ummah one rooted in justice, dignity, and shared purpose.
